How do distributor feeds work for gun stores?
Distributors publish product and availability data on a schedule, by file transfer or API. The store ingests it, maps products into its own categories and attributes, applies pricing rules, and publishes only the items it wants to sell.
Why is distributor availability often wrong on the website?
Because feeds are snapshots. If the feed runs every six hours and the item sells out an hour later, the storefront is confidently wrong until the next run. Handling that gap with buffers, cadence and backorder states is the real work.
Can we combine multiple distributors in one catalog?
